What is the Importance of Board Certification?

While many lawyers may handle Marital and Family Law matters at various levels, only those who have met the requirements of Board Certification are allowed to identify themselves as a "specialist".

A lawyer must meet the standards set by the Supreme Court of Florida, including a minimum work experience and case involvement requirement, completion of 50 hours of further legal education within the 3 years immediately preceding application, a favorable peer review and passing a rigorous written examination demonstrating sufficient knowledge and proficiency in Marital and Family Law.

Board Certification is the highest level of recognition by The Florida Bar of an attorney’s competence and experience.
